Richmond Pacific moves big shipment of coal using paired SW1200's

On Sunday (May 13, 2007) I happened to see a pair of Richmond Pacific’s SW1200’s MU’ed on the BNSF Siberia lead pulling a single CO2 tank car. A little over-powered I thought.

It all became clearer later that afternoon, when I caught the same pair working a large cut of coal cars. About 100 cars of coal were delivered to the RPRC by UP for transloading to a Korea-bound ship at the Port of Richmond.

I have added pictures with comments of the two units lugging these heavy loads around the RPRC track in a new photo gallery.

Enjoy the pics!
