RBL Lower Deck Plan with Labels

Thanks again to Denny Turani for pointing out the glaring lack of labels on my drawings! Duh! I am very familiar with my plan so I don’t tend to use them. But that doesn’t help anyone else!

As an aside, I have found that 3rd Plan It label resize sometimes when zooming. At least that was the case in earlier versions, so I stopped using them. Perhaps this has been fixed in v8? I’ll have to check.

In any case, here is a revised plan, this time with labels.

You may need to open the larger image to read the labels.

I’ll also go back update the first post about the plan with labelled plans. The next post is in draft on the Warm Springs branch. Stay tuned!

Cheers,

Steve

Works now, thanks!
One question about the entrance: what solution will you choose? A door, a duckunder, a drop-down? Also, just for curiosity: why is the wall where West Oakland is located so crooked?

Hi Denny,

The entrance will be a swing door - no duckunder, drop down or any other impediment because as you'll see with the upper deck, there will be some operations on the outside of the layout space and I want operators to be able to go in and out of the layout space as easily as possible.

The wall next to West Oakland is crooked to create a shallow space for a narrow upper level deck which will be located on the outside of the layouts space. Remember that the layout space is like a big box inside a two car garage. I could only justify taking one half ;-(.

By making the wall crooked and recessing the shelf into the wall, it is protected from the movement of people in the remaining garage space. An interchange siding and some Cal-P track is located on the shelf on the garage side of the wall and cars could easily be bumped off the track if the shelf sticks out near where people would be moving.

You'll see the shelf when I post on the upper deck.

Mezzanine post is almost done. Should be up tomorrow.

Cheers
Steve
