More Tom Mann Weathering in N Scale References

Here’s a couple of great Tom Mann weathering references.

Click here for a tutorial on N and Z scale models and has many useful tips, suggestions and photographs.

References like this are particularly inspiring for the modeler of modern equipment where the patina of use is an essential aspect of capturing the essence of present day railroading.

Here’s another example of Tom’s work on Z Scale cars and locomotives, this time with before and after shots. I like this reference for the way you can mouse over the photo to see the “before and after” effect. It takes a few seconds to fully load and exhibit the before and after effect.

The more I see of Tom’s work, the more Impressed I am with what he is able to do, and so simply too. What is also really impressive is his willingness to publish work on N Scale and even Z scale cars. I’m digging out my old MDC and roundhouse cars to start practicing.

By the way, have you ordered Tom’s recent Weathering Book yet? Don’t delay, its a good one.
