BNSF Train with Passenger Equipment on Siberia Lead 11/01/07
Saw this BNSF train at a distance on Saturday (12/01/07) around 6:30pm as it was crossing the Marina Bay Parkway Crossing on the RPRC. The cars looked “non-freight” so I detoured to the BNSF grade crossing at Marina Way south.
The pics are grainy and a little blurry but they serve as a reminder that, occasionally, unusual stuff rolls by. (Not long after I moved to this area, and before I carried a camera, a washout caused Amtrack trains to detour across these very tracks for a few days. It was quite a sight to see long passenger trains backing along the line to rejoin UP tracks at Stege Wye.)
The train was pulled by a couple of venerable blue and yellow BNSF four-axle units - GP 30 or ‘35’s. Don’t the reflective yellow sill stripes just jump out from the flash! Same with the end of crossing gate.
Next came the first of two passenger cars.
Trailing was what looked like a baggage car.
And so it went.
I assume the cars were…
-
-
BNSF business equipment, or,
-
Private or leased equipment perhaps being moved for a private move, or,
-
Inspection equipment of some description.
-
If you know what they were, Let me know. Thanks!
